CCID Officers of the Month

Award winners PSOs Ncedisa Quebetu (MIDDLE LEFT) and Khayalethu Makasi (MIDDLE RIGHT), together with assistant manager Alec van de Rheede (LEFT) and manager Mo Hendricks (RIGHT) of the CCID's Safety & Security department.

Each month the CCID’s Safety & Security department recognises four Public Safety Officers who have shown exceptional dedication to their work. These officers are deployed at various locations throughout the CBD, day and night, and awards are given in recognition of attendance, punctuality, ability, attitude, being a team player, presentability, arrests rate, reports submitted, incidents attended to, and preventative measures taken.

Our four awardees for January 2014 were:

PSO Mzwandile Mquoqi, who was responsible for the arrests of two remote jamming TOMV (theft out of motor vehicle) suspects as well as the recovery of a stolen laptop taken from Charly’s Bakery.

PSO Ncedisa Quebetu, who caught suspects red-handed as they were busy with a TOMV, corner Buitengracht and Church Street.

PSO Khayalethu Makasi, who caught a suspect responsible for the robbery of a cellphone, corner Loop and Bloem streets.

PSO Lungisa Gqakwe, who caught a chain snatching suspect on the corner of Burg & Longmarket streets.

Each recipient receives a certificate and a R200 Pick n Pay voucher. The CCID congratulates them for their exemplary service in the interests of the public.
